The emergence of artificial intelligence is reshaping the educational landscape, presenting both challenges and opportunities for educators worldwide. This session is curated for teachers and school leaders who are at the forefront of this change, keen on incorporating generative AI into their practice and leading AI integration efforts in their institutions. Attendees will immerse themselves in hands-on activities, exploring the many facets of AI in teaching and learning. From grappling with the ethical considerations of AI to reimagining assessment in the AI era, we'll dive deep into what it means to teach and learn amid the AI revolution.

Simon is a specialist in artificial intelligence, Technologies, digital literacy, and ICT across the curriculum. He holds a Master of Education by Research degree (Education Leadership) and is a doctoral candidate. Simon has a keen interest in educational practice and has professional experience in Australia and abroad. He has developed his expertise through work as a teacher, academic and consultant. 

Sarah Wells (AISWA Staff)

Consultant | Teaching And Learning School Improvement

Sarah Wells <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Sarah is a Teaching and Learning Consultant at AISWA. She has contributed toward the design and delivery of professional learning for the independent school sector of Western Australia and currently coordinates the research partnership between AISWA and the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO). Sarah has a PhD in Education from the University of Sydney and serves as a sessional academic for the School of Education at Curtin University. She is dedicated to evidence-informed practices that foster complex competencies and empower teachers and school leaders.
