AI has been used in education for years, but ChatGPT has made us all sit up and take notice. In our rapidly evolving digital landscape, leaders especially need to understand the potential of AI, and address important leadership and governance issues - such as ethical and privacy considerations, policies for responsible AI use, and engaging the entire school community in how you prepare your students for an AI-enabled future.
This practical workshop will give you the opportunity to learn from other educators - in the room and from others around the world - to understand more about AI, so you can act with more clarity and confidence when making decisions about using AI responsibly, minimising risks and potential pitfalls, and engaging staff, students, parents, and others.
Key Outcomes:
- Gain insights into crafting your school's AI policy
- Understand key ethical and privacy challenges with AI
- Explore the broader implications of AI in education and examine its wider societal impact - now and in the future
- Engage in thought-provoking discussions with other school leaders facing the same challenges now
- Foster a culture of responsible AI use
- Learn how to position AI as an advantage, not a risk, for your school
