Description
The initial stage of this event will be led by Kristine Niven and Dr. Steven Middleton. They will delve into the transformative power of the partnership between Executive Assistants and Executives in educational settings, encapsulated in their concept of the "9C’s of the EAs in Education." Through personal stories and reflective discussions, they will highlight that while each school and EA relationship is unique, success is founded on shared trust, proactive communication, and a commitment to nurturing school culture.
The 9C’s in the EA in education Role include:
Curiosity, Community, Character, Career Enhancement, Courage, Coaching, Capacity, Communication and Culture.
To further enrich the participant experience, AISWA experts will provide additional professional learning on the following topics:
- The evolving role of Executive Assistants in educational leadership
- Enhancing the Executive Assistants role in Generative AI
- Building your personal brand
- Navigating AISWA resources and offerings
- Investing in your future - Superannuation
The event will include morning tea and lunch, concluding with a half-hour sundowner around 4:00 PM.

Simon is a specialist in artificial intelligence, Technologies, digital literacy, and ICT across the curriculum. He holds a Master of Education by Research degree (Education Leadership) and is a doctoral candidate. Simon has a keen interest in educational practice and has professional experience in Australia and abroad. He has developed his expertise through work as a teacher, academic and consultant.

Kristine Niven is a leader in educational administration at St Margaret's Berwick Grammar in Melbourne. As Executive Assistant to the Associate Principal, she handles strategic and operational tasks for the Associate Principal’s Office and Officer campus. With experience in health, legal, and event management sectors, Kristine transitioned to education during COVID-19. She founded "EAs in Education," a network that supports and empowers Executive and Personal Assistants through Connect, Grow, and Belong principles, promoting them as strategic leaders in their schools.
Steven Middleton

Dr. Steven Middleton, with a Doctorate in Education from The University of Melbourne, has nearly 30 years of experience in leading top Independent Schools. As Associate Principal at St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, he has improved academic results and school culture through strategic initiatives. Dr. Middleton is dedicated to well-being, academic excellence, and community engagement. Known for his strategic vision and educational innovation, he focuses on leadership and character education. He was recognized on the Educator Hot List and received the Vice Principal of the Year award in 2024.
Leanne Nunn
