School Psychologists - Perth and Albany

Description

Applications are invited from registered psychologists with school-based experience to work with Independent schools in WA.  The focus will be on the provision of consultative support to schools and school staff, with limited direct psychological services for students. The AISWA School Psychology Service (ASPS) seeks to provide an effective and efficient service to all AISWA schools within WA to optimise student learning and development.

The hours of work can be negotiated with the successful applicants and both full-time and part-time hours will be considered.  The contracts will commence at the beginning of 2021 and conclude at the end of December 2021 with the possibility of extension beyond this time.

The Role
The AISWA School Psychologists work as part of a collaborative Psychology team.  It will involve supporting AISWA schools across WA and requires travel.
 
Essential Criteria
1. Support the mission and vision of AISWA.
2. Demonstration of excellent skills and application of scientific practitioner model.
3. Previous experience working in schools.
4. Experience in mental health assessment, learning and cognitive assessment, and, behavioural assessment and intervention.
5. Highly developed ability to provide input into teaching and learning practices in the school to optimise learning and development.
6. Experience with management and intervention for critical incidents and policies.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Competent user of ICT in a work environment.
9. Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a psychologist.
