Kulkarriya Community School (KCS) is situated in Yungngora Community at Noonkanbah Station, 170 km south west of Fitzroy Crossing. KCS is an Independent Aboriginal Community School. Its establishment in 1978 arose from a desire by the community to gain independence over the education of their children to remain strong and proud in their own culture and identity, that their school should be governed by Yungngora leaders, and that family, cultural and traditional values would form the foundation for their childrens' education. Kulkarriya Community School has maintained its independence since 1978, and is today a thriving school of 70+ students in years K-12. Kulkarriya Community School is seeking applications for multiple Primary and High School teaching positionsThe position includes

The successful applicant will 

  • be committed to developing their practice to support the KCS approach to teaching and learning. Teachers with qualifications, experience or a genuine interest and commitment to Trauma-Informed Practices will be well suited to this position.
  • have a deep appreciation and respect for Aboriginal ways of living, and be committed to learning about Nyikina and Warlmajarri culture when invited by the community.
  • be experienced in delivering differentiated learning programs for multi-age and multi-ability cohorts
  • be willing to grow and refine their teaching practice to meet the needs of EAL/D learners
  • work collaboratively with a team of dedicated staff, including working in a team-teaching approach with our Aboriginal Educators to deliver culturally relevant teaching and learning across the curriculum.
