Fairbridge College is a unique multi-campus independent school operated by Fairbridge WA Inc., a major youth charity focusing on the development of young people to achieve education and training outcomes. The College works with high school-aged students years 7-12. Our college focuses on teaching students how to learn, improving their confidence and self-esteem whilst building resilience and a growth mindset.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our growing three campuses are currently looking for Teachers in their first 5 years of teaching to join our team as soon as possible. The role is highly diverse and very hands-on and requires utmost flexibility, patience and understanding when dealing with students, staff and parents.

The successful candidate will have:

  • capacity to teach literacy and/or numeracy to students who are academically several years behind their peers
  • ability to teach young people who are either disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school
  • capacity to use trauma-informed practice and techniques
  • the ability to be very flexible in the management and/or delivery of support to students
  • current registration with TRBWA (or eligibility to be)
  • up to 5-year experience in teaching Secondary Education

Candidates will be highly regarded if they have:

  • additional training/qualifications/experience related to working with students that have specific learning disabilities and/or communication disorders (e.g. dyslexia or dysgraphia)
  • capacity to teach across multiple content areas
  • an awareness of the Berry Street Education Model
  • LR/MR (bus) License
