PERTH WALDORF SCHOOLPosition Vacant Perth Waldorf School   Invites applications for       High School Drama Teacher (0.5 FTE)      High School Music Teacher (0.4 FTE) High School Art Teacher (0.4 FTE)         Commencing in Term 1, 2019 “At Perth Waldorf School we are committed to promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children and young people and expect all school staff, parents, students, volunteers and visitors to the school to share that commitment” Where: The school is located in a bush land setting in the southern suburbs of Perth, Australia (approx. 20 minutes from the CBD).  Nearby is the popular and cosmopolitan town of Fremantle and the school is only 15 minutes from the coast. We provide a full Steiner curriculum from Playgroup to Class 12.  Who: We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our wonderful team of teachers and commence with our High School students in 2019. The successful applicants will have a passion for education, appropriate qualifications to teach their subject and have a willingness to adopt the Steiner pedagogy and philosophy.      Applicants must be teachers who are registered (or eligible for registration) with the Teacher Registration Board and can meet West Australian child protection requirements. Support to sponsor a highly qualified Steiner teacher from overseas will be considered. DRAMA: We have a strong, dynamic and compulsory Drama program inspired by Rudolf Steiner and his work with Michael Chekhov. Chekhov developed a holistic acting system for working with young people centered on imagination, movement and archetypes.  At the heart of our drama vision is the conviction that the performing arts are the ideal vehicle for adolescent intellectual, social and personal development. Our highest task is to help our students become themselves in the fullest and healthiest possible manner, drama can be one of our most dynamic means of assisting with this unfolding. MUSIC: The Music teacher position requires a special person who is confident to collaborate in a team, work with small contemporary bands, has an understanding of guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals, and is skilled at teaching theory in a classroom environment. All this practiced with passion, inspiration and the ability to foster their own strengths and encourage others. ART: The Art department is looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can demonstrate personal skill in drawing and painting. A willingness to be guided and instructed in an imaginative comprehension of Steiners’ indications and curriculum content is necessary.
