SEDA College WA has an opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team full-time, on a 12-month contract (with extension upon successful initial term), commencing as soon as possible.  The Finance Assistant is a key individual within the College finance department. This position contributes to the day to day finance functions of the College, and is particularly focussed on the operations, maintenance and continual improvement of the accounts (payable and receivable) functions. The Finance Assistance is responsible for the College’s accounts receivable ledger. This includes creating and maintaining Student Fee Accounts in Synergetic, Raising invoices as required, applying payments to Student Fee Accounts, raising Credit Notes for Student Fee Accounts as required, preparing and processing refunds associated with Student Fee Accounts, liaising with parents/carers to set up Payment Plans for Student Fee Accounts, following up declined/defaulting payments and collecting overdue Student Fees, as well as answering enquiries from, and liaising with, parents/carers in relation to their Student Fee Accounts. You will be joining SEDA College WA as a pivotal part of a dedicated and successful team. This is an important role within the Finance Department, so experience in Accounts Receivable is preferred, along with being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs.  You will need to have well developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build rapport and interact effectively with a broad range of people at all levels, have strong written communication skills, along with the capacity to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with others. You will need to be able to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member to achieve goals and use problem solving skills to identify problems and establish an appropriate solution. You will need to hold a current working with children card and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain). If required, an application for a working with children check can be made upon successful appointment. In addition, as per the State Government mandate, the successful appointment will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.

You will have demonstrated flexibility, dependability, strong organisational skills including planning and time management with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances combined with a positive attitude as you will be a role model for our SEDA College WA core values.
