Where: The school is located in a bushland setting in the southern suburbs of Perth, Australia (approx. 20 minutes from the CBD). Nearby is the popular and cosmopolitan town of Fremantle and the school is only 15 minutes from the coast. We provide a full Steiner curriculum from Playgroup to Class 12.

About the role: You will be responsible for the onsite implementation of facilities and grounds maintenance across the site. The role involves project planning, work scheduling, on-site supervision of employees and contractors and auditing the delivery of works on time with quality outcomes in a cost effective and safe manner. You will have strong time management skills and a passion for delivering a high quality service to our existing and future school community.
You will be employed by the School Administrator and the role will be directed by, in collaboration with and reporting to the School Administration Coordinator.
Key duties will include:
• Carry out facilities, maintenance and grounds operations.
• Ensure maintenance and grounds operations are delivered to agreed deadlines and approved budgets.
• Ensure that all OHS requirements are met.
• Develop a highly effective Maintenance and Gardens team through effective leadership, people management and people development.
• Ensure a detailed and accurate schedule of planned works is maintained through strategic planning and organising, and communicate this to your line manager.
• Report on schedules including program variances, time, costs, risks and issues.
• Act as an after-hours emergency contact.

• An ability to listen to a wide variety of voices, take direction and advocate a position in a professional manner.
• High level communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Skills in the use of technology to ensure efficiency of approvals, reporting, accountability and risk
management.
• Active engagement with OH&S regulations and legislation as it pertains to site management.
• Daily risk identification and daily risk mitigation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage human and financial resources.
• An openness to the essential ethos of Steiner education at the heart of the school.
• A trade certification (e.g. Electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc) will be highly regarded.

This position will be subject to a three-month review and a six month probation period.
