About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, innovative, Early Years Coordinator for our Meadow Springs Campus. This is full-time position which includes a 0.6FTE teaching load, commencing January 2023. Frederick Irwin Anglican School welcomes applications from suitably qualified teachers.
Classroom and Specialist Teachers
Classroom teachers are required to present purposeful educational programmes to classes allocated to them on the school timetable, and to participate in the general life of the School.
Coordinators must:
- Support teaching staff in their engagement with parents
- Work collaboratively with the Primary Leadership Team
- Provide guidance to existing Early Learning Years staff, developing a good working rapport
- Provide guidance to new Early Learning Years staff through the induction/orientation process
- Provide leadership to staff, demonstrating high quality teaching practices and behaviour management
- To be abreast of current Professional Learning and Educational Research to provide the best outcomes for all students
- Ensure that the assessment process is consistent and comparable across year levels and campuses
- Assist teachers in the analysis of data and in their participation in annual testing
- Keep up-to-date with curriculum changes and disseminate relevant information
- Lead staff in the implementation of curriculum changes, particularly with regard to the Western Australian Curriculum
- Assist teachers in areas of planning and pedagogy, particularly the Walker Learning Approach and other whole sub-school initiatives
- Mentor inexperienced and new staff
Teachers must:
- Use a diverse range of teaching methods relevant to the activities, interests etc. of the students
- Establish learning expectations for students which are clear, challenging and achievable
- Use ICT in the delivery of the teaching programme and as an administrative tool
- Build a positive relationship with each student as an individual
- Keep an open dialogue with parents as to class activities, programmes and expectations
- Attend, organise and assist with assemblies, special services, school and year level activities with the class
- Provide supervision for students who are participating in outdoor structured activities and during rostered play sessions; being able to respond in a timely manner to situations as they arise
- Work with students in whole class, small group and individual situations, accommodating learning activities at various heights depending on the age and physical needs of the students
Pastoral Care
As an Anglican School, pastoral care is extremely important at Frederick Irwin Anglican School. This is a role of the teachers who manage the supervision and welfare of the students while at school.
