Description

This online event, presented by Paul Searle (Road Safety and Drug Education), will help teachers and student services staff gain a better understanding of trauma and its potential impacts on young people in a school context.

By taking a Trauma Informed Care and Practice (TICP) approach, school staff will have a better understanding of how to create an environment that addresses the specific needs and sensitivities of students who have experienced trauma.

The workshop also examines the links between trauma and alcohol and other drugs (AOD).

Program format:

Online course (1 hour) – This session is an online pre-learning module to complete before taking part in the webinar.  When you register you will receive a calendar invite. You will also receive a CANVAS invite 7 days prior to the webinar.  At this time you can commence your online training. You can do it at your own pace as long as you finish it before the webinar.

Webinar (3 hours) – This session is an MS Teams webinar which takes place after the pre-learning module.  Two days before the webinar, you will be sent an email with all the relevant links and information.
