Module 1: Water

The Little Scientists initiative encourages and enables qualified educators to actively include scientific, mathematical and technical content in Kindergarten and Pre-kindergarten classrooms.  The Little Scientist program is run under licence from FROEBEL Australia Limited and in cooperation with the German "Little Scientists' House" Foundation.

You will Gain:

  • Conceptual understanding of the properties of water
  • Reinforcement of the pedagogical approach of inquiry learning
  • Simple ways to increase the provision of science in your classroom
  • Little Scientist resources to support implementation.
  • Phase of Schooling Targeted:
    Pre-Kindy - Kindy

Educators need to complete Module 1 - Water before attending further Litlle Scientists Workshops.

Wendy Gorman (AISWA Staff)

Early Childhood Coordinator

Wendy  coordinates the Early Childhood consultant team for AISWA. Her current role involves supporting all Independent Schools across WA with children aged from 3 to 8 with pedagogy, compliance, curriculum, assessment and leadership. Wendy also represents AISWA in the Independent sector on policy and regulatory matters.

Wendy has gained experience and wisdom from working across a variety of school settings in her 30 years of as an early childhood teacher and leader.

Wendy’s passion is Nature Pedagogy and working with educators to increase their engagement in outdoor spaces and to deepen their knowledge of the potential for learning outside.

Wendy has a strong belief that a high quality early education program is a right for all children and that this will support them to become healthy, engaged, active and informed citizens of the future.
