Literacy for Learning is a professional development program for teachers in all subject areas that addresses the fundamental relationship between literacy and successful learning. AISWA will be hosting a tutor training course from 26 – 29 November, a four-day intensive train-the-trainer model, which will license tutors to deliver the teacher course, providing their schools with cost-effective, school-managed professional learning.

As well as providing participants with tutor skills and training, course content is developed through the following modules:

1: Language and literacy in teaching and learning

2: Talking our way into literacy

3: Reading and viewing: Making sense of texts

4: Writing texts that work

5: Language for increasing abstraction and technicality

6: Programming and assessing: Setting up successful frameworks
