Description

Autism spectrum disorder is a life-long developmental disability that affects the individual’s understanding and interpretation of the world around them. Such a disability may cause students to have difficulty with social interaction, communication, behaviour and sensory inputs. Having a greater understanding of the difficulties faced by students will enable all educators to better meet the needs of the students in their care.

You Will Gain:

  • Building on knowledge and understanding
  • Evidence based practices
  • To gain a greater understanding of the nature of ASD
  • To identify the characteristics and issues for students with ASD.
  • To develop strategies, modifications and adaptations to meet the needs of students with ASD.
