AISWA’s Graduate to Proficient Course for Early Career Teachers & Mentor Training
A reminder that AISWA is once again offering a five day course for early career teachers in the first (or second year) of practice. This research based course focuses on providing support, information and a network to grow a graduate teacher’s practice in their first years of teaching. It culminates in them moving from provisional registration to full registration with the TRBWA. As a part of this course we ask schools to provide a school based mentor (we also offer a day’s training for them). Three of the five days occur in term time the other two days take place during school holidays.
The dates for the Graduate to Proficient Course are: 16/2, 17/2, 16/4, 5/7, 18/10
The date for the School Based Mentor Course is: 18/2

AISWA Speaker Series Part 1 - Virtual Classrooms – More Than a COVID Response
The significant challenges of 2020 - and the lessons we’ve learnt from those - have inspired significant interest in online communication, collaboration and teaching and learning. We all faced different versions of the same problems and therefore created a wide range of different solutions appropriate for our circumstances. Those schools with established models of online learning found themselves in a strong position.
In the first seminar of our 2021 ‘Speaker Series’, learn how three different Independent schools provide different models of virtual classrooms to achieve quite different goals. Each shows a conscious balance of academic and pastoral intention. The examples cover early years, upper primary and secondary levels.

TRBWA Annual Fee Reminder
All registered teachers are required to pay the TRBWA annual fee of $90.50 by 31 March 2021. All registered teachers will be mailed a hardcopy invoice and will also receive an email explaining the purpose of the invoice, options and methods for payment, and penalties for a late or missed payment.
It is important to note that the TRBWA annual fee is a requirement that is distinct from other fees including the 'renewal and registration' fee. This means if a teacher's renewal of registration occurs during the annual fee collection process they will need to pay both fees.
Principals and administrators are able to check on the payment status of teachers at their school by logging on to TRBWA Online Services and selecting the TRIP tab, then reviewing the 'Annual Fee Due' column.
