Day for Daniel 2019 | Friday 25th October
The 15th annual Day for Daniel will be held on Friday October 25th.It endeavours to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. It is about educating children through child safety and protection initiatives and helping empower our children to ‘Recognise, React and Report,’ if they feel something is not right.

EOI for Diabetes in Schools Program Expert Advisory Groups
Diabetes Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest for nominees to join one of two expert advisory groups to support the development and implementation of the Diabetes in Schools program. The Diabetes in Schools Program aims to ensure that children with type 1 diabetes are better supported in managing their condition while at school.
Diabetes Australia wishes to create two advisory groups to guide the development of key program resources.
1.PRINCIPALS ADVISORY GROUP – FOR SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
2.PROGRAM ADVISORY GROUP – FOR PROGRAM CONSUMERS (PARENTS & CARERS, TEACHERS, TEACHERS’ AIDES, SCHOOL STAFF, SCHOOL NURSES, CDEs).

Gandel Holocaust Studies Program for Australian Educators (December 2019 - January 2020) scholarship program now open | The closing date for applications is COB Friday 21 June 2019.
The objective of the Gandel Holocaust Studies Program is to form an active and organized network of Australian educators committed to teaching about the Holocaust and its universal implications, using an interdisciplinary and age-appropriate approach. They are seeking applications from active and qualified secondary school teachers for the 2019-2020 intake. This is a fully funded graduate program and teachers of any subject or discipline can apply as long as they are teaching or intend teaching the subject of the Holocaust. The intensive 18 day program in Israel will run from 29 December 2019 – 15 January 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.

Regional Intimate Images / Victims of Crime Forums
Message to Schools:
Following the introduction of the new intimate image laws, within the Criminal Law Amendment (Intimate Images) Act 2018 (WA) on 15 April 2019, the Office of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime will be running a series of regional public forums to raise awareness around the new intimate image laws and to give parents and other community members the opportunity to ask questions of the A/Commissioner on this and/or other victim related topics.
