Transperth/PTA Article - Don't Mess With Bus (School Bus Safety Project)

Every year we are seeing an increase in the number of serious injuries and incidences between buses and students around schools. The causes of these incidents range from students running out in front of buses, mucking around or just distracted by their phones or other students. And each incident doesn’t just affect the students, they can have a lasting effect on the drivers, other students, the school and the larger community.

To decrease the number of bus incidents around schools – Transperth would like your help to help get the message out.  ‘Don’t Mess With Bus’ is a hands on educational campaign designed to empower students to keep themselves and their friends safe around schools. Primary and secondary schools are given comprehensive, curriculum-linked lesson plans that can be incorporated into existing programs. A free media resource toolkit for secondary schools will get students creative sparks flying to create their own valuable safety messages.

Please see flyer for more information.

Wheelchairs for Kids commenced in 1998 as a project of the Rotary Club of Scarborough WA to manufacture and donate rough terrain wheelchairs to needy children in under-resourced countries. Please see quarterly newsletter or click here to find out more information on how you can help.
