2021 Online School Marketing Training Series

AISWA has contracted ImageSeven, a specialised marketing and branding organisation, to deliver a series of three 90-minute masterclasses for AISWA schools.

*Registrations are essential*

Topics are as follows:

Session 1 (26 August): How to bring media strategy to your media purchasing to improve campaign effectiveness.

Session 2 (23 September): Harnessing the potential of your Alumni community.

Session 3 (28 October): Creating a powerful website.

Each session will be held live from 10.00-11.30am.  The sessions will include a 75-80 minute presentation by ImageSeven, followed by 10-15 minutes of Q&A at the end. Sessions will be recorded and made available to registered attendees after each event.

Kate Mullin Educator Award

This is in memory of Kate Mullin, an AISWA  educator who worked passionately and tirelessly to improve outcomes for Aboriginal EAL/D learners. This award aims to recognise and celebrate excellence in language and literacy education of Aboriginal students, and provide leading practitioners with the opportunity to share their expertise and extend their knowledge and skills.

You can check on TRBWA website via Teacher Login that you have paid your annual fee.

Invitation to Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) Biennial Conference 2021

Sustainable Schools WA members are invited to join other environmental and sustainability educators, community engagement officers, interested community members and the WA Chapter of the Australian Association of Environmental Educators (AAEE) this September as they host their 21st Biennial Conference.  Sustainable Schools WA members qualify for the AAEE Members rate at the AAEE Biennial Conference, and are encouraged to take the opportunity to attend in person, as the conference only returns to Western Australian every 12 years or more!

RAC Imagine Program

The RAC Imagine Program™ provides an opportunity for young Western Australians (Year 5 and 6 students) to discover past and future technologies, and learn about the changing nature of transport, mobility and road safety, whilst addressing aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and HASS subjects (Humanities and Social Sciences). Empower Schools to Tackle (Cyber)bullying with Digital Ambassadors!

PROJECT ROCKIT Digital Ambassadors unites students across Australian schools to participate in a national movement of change against (cyber)bullying, that is led by young people for young people. This youth-driven program will equip your students with tools to take control of online platforms, provide strategies to shut down online hate and (cyber)bullying, and empower them to take positive action online on the issues they care about. Keys4Life Professional Learning Workshops

Keys4Life is a pre-driver program that helps to educate young people about safer road use and allows them to sit their Learner's Permit Theory Test. Free face-to-face workshops are available for teachers who are new to delivering the Keys4Life pre-driver education program or who want to update their knowledge and resources. Find out more Here

 

Intercultural Understanding Survey

Cultural Infusion, in partnership with UNESCO, are conducting a Review of Australian Educational Policy and Curricula for Intercultural Understanding. The project supports the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals aimed at ending extreme poverty, reducing inequality, and protecting the planet by 2030. As part of this review they are seeking feedback from teachers by way of a survey available Here

 

2021 Tim Winton Award for Young Writers  

Entries into the 2021 Tim Winton Award for Young Writers are closing soon. West  Australian school students in years one to twelve are invited to submit an original story of up to 2000 words in length.

Judges are looking for creative entries, with original themes, excellent story development and quality writing.

To enter, register your details online and upload your story at Here  by Friday 13 August, 5.30pm. If you prefer to submit a physical copy of your story, register online and print your entry confirmation before submitting your story to Subiaco Library.
