National Safe Schools Framework Forum
The National Safe Schools Framework (NSSF) was developed to ensure a safe and supportive environment where students can expect to feel safe from bullying, harassment, violence, child abuse and neglect. Schools will be required to demonstrate the implementation of the NSSF in 2006, through the Australian Government reporting requirements.
Through the Australian Government Quality Teacher Program, AISWA is running the NSSF Forum. This forum will be of great benefit to all in the school, in particular, Heads of Schools, Year Co-ordinators, School Psychologists, the Pastoral Care Team and interested parents who are identified by the school as key people to help with the implementation of the program.
The Forum will draw on the knowledge of experts in this field to provide key addresses to the participants and smaller concurrent sessions on more specific topics. By the end of the day, participants will have an understanding of the NSSF, detailed knowledge of the various resources currently available to schools in this area, an appreciation of where schools are currently at, and what AISWA is doing to support schools in the audit process so that schools can action the reporting requirements.
