Curriculum Council provides for the development and implementation of a Curriculum Framework for schooling which, taking account of the needs of students, sets out the knowledge, understandings, skills, values and attitudes that students are expected to acquire; provide for the development and accreditation of courses of study for post-compulsory schooling.

Edsite WA -the main purpose of this site is to provide easily accessible information concerning education in Western Australia. This education portal is provided as a community service by Edsite WA, a new media design company.

Gifted and Talented Students- The selection process for Year 7 students applying for entry into the Gifted and Talented Education Arts and Academic programs for Year 8 in 2008 is currently under way. All Year 7 students have been tested and the results are being finalised. Offers of placement will be posted out to parents in late May.

The Department of Education Services offers important services to education in Western Australia providing policy advice to the Minister for Education and Training and supporting universities, non-government schools, international education providers and in some cases individual students and teachers through scholarship programs.

WA College of Teaching- The College was established by law on the 15 September 2004 as an independent professional body representing all members of the WA teaching profession. The college was established to enhance the status of the teaching profession by facilitating the professional growth and development of teachers throughout their careers and operating a regulatory system.
